]]>Studios and One-Bedrooms That Keep It Simple
One open room holds the kitchen, sleeping area, and living space in the S1 studio's 560 square feet. Furnishing it takes a few key pieces, and the compact layout can make everyday upkeep more manageable. That simplicity makes it an option worth considering for renters who prefer a cozy, efficient living space.
Eight one-bedroom layouts feature a separate bedroom off the living area, ranging from 560 to 853 square feet. At one end, everything stays within a few steps; at the other, the living room and kitchen open up enough to have friends over for dinner.
For those who work from home or need a dedicated space for hobbies, the A8 is worth exploring. Its 853 square feet include a den that can serve as a home office, giving your desk its own space. That additional room also provides flexibility for other activities or storage needs.
Two-Bedrooms With Space for a Roommate or a Desk
Two-bedroom apartments offer additional flexibility for a variety of living arrangements. At Axis at the Park, each two-bedroom floor plan includes private bathroom access for the bedrooms, providing added convenience and separation between personal and shared spaces.
For a dedicated workspace, start with the B4. It is the largest of the five two-bedroom floor plans at 1,313 square feet and comes with a dedicated den that can serve as a home office. This additional space allows both bedrooms to remain available for their intended use while providing a separate area for work, hobbies, or other activities.
Choosing among the two-bedroom floor plans comes down to how much space you prefer in the open-concept living area and which layout best accommodates your needs.
Townhomes and Three-Bedrooms When You Need More Space

Townhomes give you the experience of what a whole home can be like. The BTH floor plan, a two-bedroom layout at 1,535 square feet, is among the largest at Axis at the Park. The bedrooms are on an upper level, with the kitchen and living space below. Select townhomes also feature a private fenced yard, providing additional outdoor space for relaxing, entertaining, or enjoying time outside.
For those who prefer additional bedrooms on a single level, the three-bedroom apartments offer layouts up to 1,490 square feet. The extra rooms provide flexibility for a home office, guest bedroom, workout space, or other uses depending on your needs. Select layouts also include an additional half bathroom off the living area for added convenience.
Between these options, one important consideration is the presence of stairs. A townhome separates activities by floor, which can be helpful for certain routines. The apartments offer single-level layouts, which may be preferable for those who want their living spaces on one floor.
Lock in Your Dream Apartment at Axis at the Park

A floor plan fits when it matches how you already live. At Axis at the Park, a studio offers an efficient layout, a den provides additional space for work or hobbies, and a townhome offers the separation of a multi-level living arrangement.
Choosing a new space to live in comes with a lot of questions. Learning how the floor plans can work with your routine is one of the many things our helpful on-site team can help with during a tour of Axis at the Park. Contact us today, and we’ll be happy to help.

]]>Work and Meet Inside the 24-Hour Clubhouse
The clubhouse amenities at Axis at the Park are open 24 hours a day. Flex workspaces inside hold a laptop, a second monitor, and the paperwork a full day of calls requires. So, you have a desk a short walk from your apartment for an early call or a late deadline.
Indoor lounges sit alongside the workspaces on the clubhouse floor. Move over to one with your coffee when a long stretch at the desk calls for softer seating and take your next call from the couch. The lounges also work for meeting a neighbor or catching up with a friend over cups of coffee.
The clubhouse is great for hosting, too. A birthday dinner, a game night, or a study group with classmates works here. There are plenty of tables to host gatherings and enough seating for everyone to rest their feet while conversing. A minute from your apartment, the space is open to residents at any hour, so a birthday party or a study session does not have to end early.
Train at the Fitness Center, Yoga Lawn, and Pickleball Court

The fitness center, like the clubhouse, is open 24 hours. You’ll find treadmills lining the window walls for cardio sessions. Behind them are the free weights and agility equipment. They cover strength-training days, along with high-intensity interval sets, so a workout starts and ends here. Whether you prefer late-night or early-morning workouts, the space supports a flexible fitness routine.
You also have the choice of stretching and floor work outdoors on the yoga lawn. The lawn consists of a green grass patch with trees providing shade. Bring a mat out whenever you want for a flow session or use the open area for bodyweight exercises in the shade.
Pickleball is a great way to stay active while adding some friendly competition. Axis at the Park has an on-site court, so grab a paddle, bring some friends, and a full game can fill up the evening. The court is worth trying even if you have never played. You can learn the rules, grab a ball, and start playing within a few minutes.
Swim and Grill at the Resort-Style Pool Area
The luxurious pool area at Axis at the Park is set up for a full afternoon outdoors. Lap lanes are marked off in the resort-style pool, which also has a separate area for relaxing. After a few laps, you can recover by enjoying a relaxing float.
There are plenty of lounge chairs on the sundeck for drying off or sunbathing. Trees lining the outdoor lounge space keep some seating shaded throughout the afternoon. Enjoy your time in the sun in the morning and move towards the shade once the heat sets in.
Community grills and a gazebo are a few steps from the water. The gazebo has shade and a table, so the whole cookout happens in one place. Residents can cook a burger while the rest of their group stays in the pool, then carry the plates to the gazebo for a group dinner outdoors.
After sundown, the fire pit becomes the perfect gathering spot. Pull a chair up to the flames and keep the evening going after a swim. The fire pit also carries the pool space into the cooler months, when a fire is the whole appeal of sitting outside.
Let Your Dog Zoom Around at the Gated Parks

Two gated dog parks mean off-leash time is never more than a short walk, no matter which building you are in. Each one has room for a dog to sprint after a ball with the peace of mind of a gate closed behind you. A second park also gives your dog a fresh place to explore and a calmer spot to socialize.
The indoor pet spa lets you easily clean up after walks. The tub is at waist height, which makes it easy to wash while standing and reduces strain on your back. You can wash your dog in the tub and come back home clean.
At Axis at the Park, we host pet-parent events at the gated parks that bring pet owners together. You meet your neighbors while your dog picks up new playmates. Watch the calendar for the next one and head to the park to socialize and enjoy some time outdoors.

]]>You’ll find our apartments on Oxford Pond Drive, a few minutes from both University City Boulevard and I-85. You can reach a paved greenway, a grocery store, and several restaurants in under 10 minutes by car.
Where to Eat Around University City
Many of the restaurants closest to Oxford Pond Drive serve international food. Rasin Haitian serves griot and legume, Tora Izakaya makes Japanese plates and ramen, and Banh Mi Brothers is the place to go for Vietnamese sandwiches and pho. You can reach all three within a short drive of University City Boulevard.
If you want something faster, Ma Luz Mexican Grill and Chicken Box Cafe are convenient options for a weeknight when you would rather not cook. KPOT serves Korean barbecue and hot pot a few minutes away. A meal there takes a while, so it works best for a group meal when you have time to spare.
For coffee or breakfast, Vavela Cafe and Anatolia Cafe Cuisine are both a few minutes out along University City Boulevard. If you work from home, there is also plenty of space at Axis at the Park to get fresh views and coffee. Our 24-hour clubhouse at Axis at the Park is open to residents on the nights when the cafes have already closed.
Greenways and Outdoor Space
Charlotte has a large greenway system, and several of the trails run through University City. The Toby Creek Greenway runs 2.8 miles from Rocky River Road north to the Mallard Creek Greenway. Every mile is paved and about 10 feet wide, so walkers, runners, and cyclists can share the trail comfortably.
Farther north, the greenway crosses the western edge of the UNC Charlotte campus and passes the athletic fields and the tennis complex. From there, the trail connects to Mallard Creek Greenway and Clarks Creek Greenway, which add another 7.4 miles of connected path. You can start a two-mile loop or a 10-mile ride from the Kirk Farm Fields trailhead.
University City Partners publishes a map of the local greenway network, including the connection to the UNC Charlotte botanical gardens. Kirk Farm Fields has the closest parking lot if you would rather drive than ride the bus from home.
You don't need to go far from your apartment to get some fresh air and green views either. Our two gated dog parks and open lawn at Axis at the Park give you outdoor space without leaving the property. You can walk the dog after work instead of loading the car to go to a dog park miles away.
Shopping and Everyday Errands

University Place and the shopping along W.T. Harris Boulevard cover most weekly errands. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and big-box retail all cluster within a few miles of Oxford Pond Drive. That makes it possible to handle several errands in one trip.
Concord Mills is about 15 minutes north on I-85. More than 200 stores fill one building, so it works better for a planned afternoon than a quick errand.
Banks, urgent care, and auto shops are spread along W.T. Harris and University City Boulevard instead of grouped into one plaza. However, many are only a short drive apart.
Which Apartment Fits Your Week
How much you use the neighborhood depends on what your apartment already offers. If you cook most nights, your kitchen matters more than the nearby restaurants. If you work from home most days, a separate room may matter more than a short drive to Uptown.
The apartment and townhome options at Axis at the Park include studios to three-bedroom apartments. Select plans include a den or an attached garage. A den gives you a workspace away from the living room. Meanwhile, the townhomes put the bedrooms on a separate floor from the kitchen.
Students and solo professionals may want a studio because prioritizing space and cost is more important. Roommates splitting rent near campus can decide between various two- and three-bedroom plans. Additionally, families have the options of three-bedroom apartments and townhomes. Ultimately, the best apartment depends on your lifestyle and what you’re planning for the future.
Getting Around Charlotte

The LYNX Blue Line runs light rail from UNC Charlotte into Uptown, and both the JW Clay Boulevard and University City Boulevard stations are close to Axis at the Park. The ride takes about 30 minutes and skips I-85 completely.
However, driving still makes sense for most trips outside the corridor. I-85 is a few minutes from Oxford Pond Drive and runs west toward the airport or northeast toward Concord. Charlotte Douglas International is about 20 minutes out in light traffic.
Keep in mind that traffic here follows the academic calendar. Mornings and late afternoons get busy when UNC Charlotte is in session, and the same roads are clear in July. If you work from home part of the week, the heavier traffic affects you less.
Common Questions About University City
Is University City only for students?
No. UNC Charlotte is the largest presence in the area, but University Research Park brings in thousands of employees every day. The area also offers housing, shopping, dining, parks, and transit for a wide range of lifestyles.
How long is the commute to Uptown Charlotte?
The LYNX Blue Line takes about 30 minutes from the University City stations. Driving typically takes 20 to 35 minutes depending on I-85, so the train is often the more predictable choice.
Are the greenways connected to each other?
Yes. Toby Creek Greenway links to Mallard Creek Greenway, which links to Clarks Creek Greenway. Together, the three trails give you about 10 miles of continuous paved path without a major road crossing.
Seeing how close the greenway and the grocery store are tells you more than measuring the distance on a map. Schedule a tour at Axis at the Park and walk the block while you're here.
